The Score

Major spoilers in spoilertags.
I wasn't sold on Dean in the first few chapters and it's been a while since I read the other books, so I didn't really remember him. But when things started to move along I really enjoyed this book. I liked Allie and Dean and their banter. I enjoyed their chemistry and I like their friends.
The story is nothing new, but it's still very enjoyable when it's done in the right way - like it is here. Some parts were really funny. Like the scene with Dean in the bathtub.
Some of the transitions in this book were a bit odd to me though. Big important things, like starting a relationship and saying 'I love you', were completely rushed and a bit unbelievably easy for such a player at heart. Also, was it really necessary to kill Beau? It felt a little like it was just to add drama, for the drama itself. Not for the story.
The ending also felt a bit rushed to me. "I need to learn how to be alone" Is so not the same thing as "I'm going to spend a month alone without any real trouble, to somehow magically know I can handle everything myself, while I keep my boyfriend on the back burner who will jump in and save me if I need it and who will take me back in a heartbeat"
But all in all, it was a very enjoyable book and I recommend it if you loved the previous books in this series. I'm curious to find out what happened with Tucker in the next book.
